Dear Friend,

I am writing for your help and time is of the essence.

The House and Senate are about to conference to determine core funding for the public humanities. Please help by contacting Senator Diane Feinstein to urge her to support the House bill allocating $170 million for the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) and state affiliates like the California Council for the Humanities.

Click here to write Senator Feinstein and add your voice of support.

The House version of the bill would ensure core funding for the California Council for the Humanities and all the wonderful programs we support and create for youth, teachers, filmmakers, libraries, museums and others—the kinds of programs that make our state a better place to live and are vital to our communities and each of us as individuals.

Please take a moment to show your support for the humanities in California and nationwide. A minute of your time could make all the difference.

Let Senator Feinstein know how much the humanities mean to you and how increased funding for the National Endowment for the Humanities is important.

Also, please forward this message to people who are willing to help and feel free to post it on Facebook.

With warm regards and gratitude,

Ralph Lewin
Executive Director
California Council for the Humanities
