Photographers' Statement:
Teenagers care about Hayward’s environment. As photographers, we explored, noticed, and pondered our surroundings even when we couldn’t account for what we saw. There are nice landscapes and more simplistic areas; a modern side and an older side; a fresh side and a damaged side. We looked for forms and shapes of structures we saw as a product of change. We encountered faded, scratched, erased, and effaced landscapes. All these parts come together as the Hayward we know and see every day. In the urgency life, we rarely notice what can bring a smile to our faces. Magic truly is everywhere.
