Seeing is believing. Or is it? We go through our lives seeing the big picture. We see a wall, but we don’t stop to look at the spider web of cracks on the top corner or the little yellow flower growing at the base. How important are the things we miss? Not very. Most are just little smiles throughout the day, the opportunity to laugh, or to cry, or to think about life. Eventually, however, we begin to wonder: What did I miss? What did I not look at that I might never have a chance to see again?

The “How I See It: My Place” project taught those of us involved in it to see the beauty in everything. To laugh at the little yellow flowers and think about the cracks. The point of this project is to make people see the world around them. See more than just a wall.
