How I See It — My Place

Photographers' Statement:
As we examined our photos for the exhibit, a theme emerged – “A Second Look”. Before arriving at this theme, we experimented with ideas such as “Change in an Unchanged City,” “Coexistence,” “Hidden Messages,” and many more. We finally decided on “A Second Look” because we feel it captured the essence of this project. How I See It: My Place is all about looking at the city in a new light and noticing aspects of Santa Monica that we disregarded so many times before. Our photographs recognize and highlight everyday objects previously ignored, inviting viewers to take a second look.
