Capturing the Sikh experience in California

This project recorded the stories of Sikh communities in the Yuba City, Sacramento and Stockton areas. The idea was to document community life through still photography, and record, through video-taped oral histories, important changes that have occurred over the past 50 years, such as the role of religious, economic and cultural institutions in California's Sikh communities.

A photography and video exhibit was held at the Sutter County Library in April 2005 and at the Punjabi American Heritage Festival in May 2005.
